Here are a few of the responses that we receive from our "extended family". We enjoy staying in touch with all of you. We are continually getting updates from families- we LOVE that! I have not always been great at getting our feedback posted but we certainly enjoy and appreciate all of the updates from our Lab loving families. If you would like to be sure that your testimony is on this page...please, email me with your experience and a picture and tell me to post it...I will (it may not be right away, but I will post it in time). We also have a small FaceBook page. I don't know a whole lot about how that works but it seems that you can post pictures of your puppies directly to our page. Again, thank you for staying in touch and allowing us to be a part of this special time in your lives.
Thank you, thank you for allowing us to be a part of you welcoming home your family member.
We truly consider it a privilege!
It has been far too long since I have posted testimonials...YIKES! I thought I would start with one that we received today and work backwards. Thank you for the many families that keep us updated with wonderful updates and pictures! We appreciate watching the puppies grow and seeing what love they give and receive. Please, forgive me for the delay if you have sent pictures and words and I haven't posted them. It is just that our focus is on the puppies and adults and I haven't kept up on this piece.
Thank you for your patience AND keep the updates coming.
Thank-you again for providing such a wonderful little puppy!
Pete has been amazing, he learns things as fast as I can teach him. Sit, stay, shake, crawl, roll-over are all in the rear-view mirror. He is happy and loving to everybody he meets.
He is growing like a weed, and has never defecated once in the house. He is mostly house trained already.
I get many compliments on how cute he is, and the long-time tech at my Vet's office wanted to know where we got him.
He has exceeded our expectations!

Good morning Bryce and Gina,
I want to let you know how the chocolate chunk has been doing and send an updated picture! He hasn't had an accident in the house for a week and is starting to walk great on his leash... He just tries to eat everything in sight! His crate training couldn't have gone any better, he loves going in there to sleep. Moose is also excellent at sitting on command. Some of my favorite things about him is he loves belly rubs, sleeping right on anyone's feet when we are sitting on the couch, and after we go on walks he likes to do hot laps around the house, it's hilarious. We brought him to my sisters softball tournament and he was more of a fan favorite than any of the players... Everyone kept saying what a beautiful dog he is, I thought you'd like to know that! :) His health is great and we see the vet again next week!
Hope all is well with you and your family,

We (Lara, Chad, Blake and Max Petersen) just had to write to update you on our precious Lucy. We are so in love with her. She has a wonderful, fun loving and patient personality. She loves stuffed animals and especially playing with Max's unattended toys. We have received numerous compliments on her and always provided your business as a recommendation.
Thanks again! Here are a few pictures, I swear she looks just like her mama Oona! 11/15/2014

Maggie is the love of our lives. Best dog ever. Thanks to welcome home labs! Monique A. from California 9/23/2014
Hi Bryce and Gina,
I am SO sorry I have not emailed until now. I feel a little like a new Mom with a baby - just happy that you get a shower each day. :)
Winston (you called him Hodsgi...which by the way, what is the origin of that name, we had never heard it before) is doing GREAT. Our Vet (who has always had Labs) said you guys gave him the BEST start and said he would say Winston was "confident but mellow"...which pretty much sounds like what you observed wtih him.
He is doing great. He is So SMART. He has already learned so many things...he comes when called-EVERYTIME...he SITS on command and is learning WAIT...since we make he and Lola do that before they can eat. He also is getting the outside potty thing down pretty well (meaning we are really good at guessing when he needs to go ") but he is learning. He also goes all night long sleeping in his crate in our room and only ever got up 2 nights.
He and his "big" sister Lola love to play together and are starting to learn appropriate play and not all-star wrestling.
I have attached a couple of photos and also have a really cute video of the 2 of them and have sent it in a separate email as it was SO large. I can't imagine him not in our lives...he is the sweetest pup and we love him so much.
We are so thankful for raising such wonderful dogs and SO IMPRESSED with everything you all did for them You are the BEST...and we tell everyone that.
I will write and send more photos soon!

Can't imagine life without Magnum! Happy 1st birthday - thanks WHL!
It is important to us that you know we are available for you during the entire process of adopting a puppy. Here is an email from a family that came to visit the puppies. They have been planning for their puppy and waiting for about 6 months for Mulan to have pups and now it is only weeks before Welcome Home Day! Our puppy families become a part of our family and we are thankful to get to know you all.
Thank you Hunter and Jan for coming to visit and for taking the time to share of your experience with us. Below is their email.
Bryce and Gina, thank you so much for taking our questions seriously and for the time and effort you spent addressing them.
I feel so much better prepared for puppy day a couple weeks from now after talking with you yesterday.
Your friendliness, concern and professionalism are outstanding.
We couldn't be more impressed or happier with Welcome Home Labs!
Thank you so much.
It won't matter which of the three girls we get.
They are all perfectly lovely!
It was very impressive the way Pumpkin and Nellie each searched for and found their potty spot at only 4-5 weeks of age!
The time and care you put into getting them ready for us to welcome into our family is going to translate into a very smooth transition.
Thanks for always going above and beyond, whether in careful breeding, having your own labs as part of your own family to jump in the pond or run through the snow, having the puppies intermingling with your children for excellent socialization from the very first moments, or in responding to our questions and concerns as we prepare to bring our puppy home.
Our best to you always,
Jan and Hunter Olsen

We would always be happy to be a contact for anyone wanting to know our experiences with Welcome Home Labs!

We can't thank you enough for bringing Ryder into our lives. There are so many reasons why he is such a special puppy and it all comes from Welcome Home Labs. From the very start with your interview process to the updates, the pick-up and all the love, Welcome Home Labs is incredible. Not only did your family give Ryder loads of love and early socialization, but you also helped us learn! We have had the joy of living with Ryder for almost 7 weeks, now. Even though Patrick and I both grew up with labs, Ryder still amazes us. As I write you this update he is snuggling in my lap, but if we go outside he will just as easily run and explore. We could not have asked for a better temperament: loving, calm, adventurous and soooo smart. I am continuously amazed at how quickly he responds to training and new commands. Our vet and the trainers at the puppy school have commented on it, too. Our vet, a lab lover, has even talked to us about getting a puppy from Welcome Home Labs. Ryder is constantly getting compliments from other lab owners about how well-behaved and HANDSOME he is. His shiny coat and his boxy English features will speak for themselves in the pictures. We will never know how to thank you, but I can tell you that we will be sending our families your way and can't wait to see more litters grow.
Thanks and love to you and your family,
Patrick and Patti (Brook X George puppy)
This note was given to us when Heidi picked up her puppy at our home in February 2013.
Bryce, Gina and family,
I know I have said it many times overt the past few months but I have to say it again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! This is a dream come true.
I have always loved labs. Ever since I was little and would go play with my uncle's dog Nugget. I have done my research on the breed and I knew what I wanted. Welcome Home Labs has fulfilled that and then some. From the first day, it has been a pleasure getting to know you. You took the time to match me with a puppy that would fit with what I was looking for. You didn't force a puppy on me. You gave me an option.
I promise to take good care of Monroe. She is already loved. I know she will be an awesome addition to my family.
She will have a big fall with a few planned hunting trips for grouse at the shack, then Iowa for a pheasant hunt, and ending the fall with a duck hunt. I promise not to overwork/overt exercise her. These will be short trips, just to get her started.
Aside from hunting, she is going to join Karney in being a family pet. I have a feeling my bed is going to get very crowded this year. I will send pictures to update you on her progress.
I would recommend your kennel to anyone looking for a good experience and a beautiful Lab.
Please, enjoy these cookies. They aren't much but they are the best I can do to try to show my gratitude. A big thank you to your kids for loving on my little girl.
I will let you know when we get back to International Falls.
Again, THANK YOU,
Heidi V. (Brook X George puppy)
Heidi has been great sending updates to us regularly. THANK YOU, Heidi! ( I was not able to upload her in the snowpile that was as high as the tree branches...)
Good Morning, April 2013
These pictures are 2 weeks old but they are some of the best that I have on my computer. She loves to be out in the snow and playing with her big sister.
Being that Karney is a herding dog, when Monroe gets the zoomies and wants to run around the yard, it helps to create a fun activity for both the girls.
She has transitioned to her bigger crate well. Almost too well. She doesn't not like to sleep in beds. However if I am sleeping on the couch, she is perfectly content to snuggle. Usually laying on my back with her head next to mine.
Over Easter she got lots of attention. We had a house full of little kids and she did great. My oldest 2 nephews are so in love with her that they keep asking if I will let them keep her and get a new one. My answer is a big NO. I love this little girl. Well not so little. I think we are pushing the 30 pound mark. But that is ok. She is just beautiful. When we go walking or visiting people always compliment her on her beautiful color. She is still mostly white with gold points. We did find one black hair in all the white when we were brushing her.
At the end of April we are thinking of taking her out to the woods for the first time if the snow goes away. Dad has a starter pistol to start her out on. I am looking forward to this fall. She is already showing that she has great potential. She follows any thing that we roll or throw. She has also picked up the commends we use for Karney. She is a very confident dog. Nothing scares her. She is cautious of new things without being fearful.
Looking at Brook and George, I see a lot of George in her. Especially her eyes. She has the same expressive eyebrows that he has. They made a beautiful puppy. I would love to have another one.
I will send some more pictures soon.
She is growing so fast.
Thank you again.
Heidi Monroe and Karney
Hi Bryce and Gina!
It's hard to believe we have already have Luna as part of our family for 6 weeks! She has grown SO much! Her first weigh in at our vet was 9.4 lbs (the Monday after we picked her up) and just weighed her in for her vet appt today and she is already 18.5 lbs! We love and adore her, she is lovely and friendly. We start puppy school with her tomorrow! I've attached pictures in order from the last several weeks so you can see her grow and see her progress. Thank you for such a beautiful, loyal and fun companion!
Best wishes and hope the family is well,
Ali, Justin & Luna Zegar
Hi Bryce, Gina and Family,
We can't tell you how blessed we feel that we came across WELCOME HOME LABS webpage when we did. From the start you all were very caring and informative. You have prepared us well for our long journey ahead with our baby boy Oakley (A.K.A Tucker). I want to thank you for always being there to answer all my questions and the pictures you would send our way, it always brought a smile to my face.
It has been 3 days since my children A.J, Joshua, Rachael and Ryan thought they were going 5 hours away to the airport to pick up there "cousins" when in reality they were going for there surprise package (Oakley). It was worth a million to see there reactions and smiles, Oakley greeted them all happy and with so much love. On our drive back we actually were afraid we left him in San Antonio lol not once did he make a sound. As soon as we got home he walked around like if he'd always lived here. He gives us so much love that its so easy to give it back. He only has had 2 accidents since arriving both our faults, and he has slept through out the whole night after the first day. The first day he just woke us up twice to go potty but went back to sleep.
At the vet he got checked and they said he was perfect and amazing. They were so in love with him. Its so easy because he's just so loveable and all thanks to you all, for showing him so much love. The vet said he was so well taken care of and it showed, we did credit it all to welcome home labs. Today he started his obedience training lessons at home and the trainer was amazed to see such a well tempered labrador. She said that when people call her and tell her the breed she comes prepared especially when someone says "Labrador". She was actually speechless as she saw how well he obeyed commands already. She said we had a "little genius". Our trainer has no doubt that he is on his way to receiving the "canine good-citizen certificate" in no time, thanks to the start you all gave him and we couldn't agree with her more. So thank you again for giving us our newest family addition and we only hope we can give him as much love as you have given him and that he deserves. We will keep in touch.
Thank you,Angel, Jolyn, A.J, Joshua, Rachael, Ryan and Oakley
Bryce, Gina and Family;
Rufus wanted to wish you Happy Easter and to let you know he was neutered March 1st and is doing well.
Rufus loves our other male yellow lab Dillon very much, they are truly buddies.
Rufus is very smart, sneaky, strong and fast but most of all he loves Justin and is usually right by Justin's side.
He loves riding in Justin's truck and helping with yard work.
The three dogs have not been able to swim in the river all winter, so yesterday they wouldn't take no for a command and all three took their first swim for 2013.
Forgot to add Rufus received the highest rating for his hips when x-rayed, the vet was very impressed.
Hope all is well at your home,
(For clarification...Rufus is the one with the long tongue sticking out. Haha. Just kidding. Rufus is on the yellow Lab on the right. Smiles, Gina)

Dear Bryce, Gina, and Family,
I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know how much we love our puppy. Bruno is growing so quickly and learning so many new things. Our vet thinks that he is going to be a really big boy. She also thinks that he is very healthy, very sweet, and perfect in every way! She is a “lab person” herself, and has been thinking about getting another puppy. She was extremely interested in Welcome Home Labs because Bruno is such a wonderful puppy. Don’t be surprised to get an inquiry from Dr. Westgard!
Bruno has been going on all kinds of adventures in the Twin Cities. We take daily walks on the Rice Creek Trail, although, Bruno often tires in the middle of the trail and wants to be carried back home! That’s ok! We all take turns carrying him when he is too tired to walk. He plays with his buddy “Cooper”, an English Springer Spaniel several times each week. Bruno has been to several “Dog Friendly” restaurants, but especially likes the Wilde Roast in Minneapolis. I think that is because he gets to meet Lindsay and Chance there! He is a very good patron and everyone has to stop and pet him or give him treats! Going to Mark and Brock’s softball games is really a fun outing! Bruno gets to see Cooper, play with the kids, chase balls, and cheer for “Dad” when he bats! Last week, Grandma and Grandpa came from Illinois to visit. We were a little worried about a puppy with so much energy around Grandpa. He is 86 years old, but loves puppies. Bruno was awesome with him. He was gentle and paid more attention to Grandpa than anyone else! It made Grandpa’s visit extra special! Kendall will soon be moving into her own apartment and getting a kitten. We are excited for Bruno and the kitten to become friends.
Our family cannot thank you enough for making this relationship possible. From the day Kerry and Brock contacted you, you have demonstrated to us the true quality of your breeding facility, as well as your kindness and caring as people. Having lost a dog recently, we were not sure that we were ready to begin a new relationship. You understood that, and helped us make that decision in a kind and caring manner. We are so grateful that we decided to get a puppy and even more grateful that he came from you. It is so reassuring to know that you are available as a wonderful resource to us throughout the many stages that Bruno will go through, and also, that you just want to know how he is doing in his new home. I brag about Welcome Home Labs to everyone, and would highly recommend you as a breeder to anyone. Please feel free to use any part of this email in any way. Also, if anyone would ever like to contact me personally, I would be happy to speak with them about the wonderful experience we had and continue to have with Welcome Home Labs.
Mary, Mark, Kendall, Kerry, and Bruno
Hi Gina and Bryce,
I just wanted to check in with you to let you know how Waggs is doing. He has been with us for 6 weeks now and he is doing great. From 2 months to 3 months he has doubled his weight and is growing overnight. He is just over 30 lbs. now. He is such a good dog and we are truly blessed to have him. During this short time he has been crate trained, potty trained, can sit on a hand command and we are now in the process of leash training. He is a fast learner. We took him with us to see our son at college in Iowa and he was super good. No accidents in the hotel and he just hung out with us all day. The person he gets the most excited about is grandma; it is so funny to watch him light up when she comes over to see him. Needless to say, he does get spoiled with lots of toys. He is so handsome with his strong features and shining coat. He truly is a quality breed.
Thanks for all you have done for us; the entire process of first inquiring about a puppy to the pick-up day and the follow ups afterwards has been great. I will definitely send anyone looking for a top quality English lab from a professional breeder your way.

The Griffin family from Boston keeps us updated with pictures regularly. Thank you!
I can't seem to turn one of the pictures but you get the idea.
Must be the fact that he's from Minnesota! Loves to hang out in Ryan's hockey bag! I suspect there are some special smells in there!
Nina X Thunder puppy
Hi and Happy Holidays,
I wanted to send you a note to share with you how much we love Deuce. He is a great dog with a lot of personality. He is a wateraholic. We have to make sure the bathroom door is latched otherwise he will be in the shower with you. When you fill up the bathtub for his bath he comes a running and voluntarily jumps in. I have a water garden in the back yard and I can't keep him out of it. He has his own personal towel hanging by the back door. He gets to come to the office with me every now and again and he has received lots of praises. Everyone is always amazed at how well behaved he is as a puppy; and it wasn't due to my training. It clearly is his breeding. One of his favorite activities at night is to join me on the lazyboy. He lays on his back and gets his belly rubbed. We just got a dumping of snow and attached are a few picture of him in the snow. I took them through the window; so not the clearest. :-(
Enjoy the photos and thanks for having a great breeding program.
Dear Bryce and Gina,
Thank you so much for our new little pup - he got a great start with the care from you and your wonderful children and we're so excited to have him as part of our family. We're so glad we found Welcome Home Labs - for the responsible breeding program that you have, the good temperaments of your pups, and your genuine concern for the pups and their new owners.
MUCH thanks and blessings!!!

Melissa and Derek have a chocolate Nina X Thunder puppy and they live in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
Hi Bryce and Gina,
"I think I have the dog for you." Gina, that is what you told me when I described our family and the type of dog we wanted. So we came up to meet Snowflake/Aspen and wow, you could not have matched us with a better dog! We wanted to let you know how Aspen is doing these days - 7 months old!
Routines at home:
I think one of my favorite routines is that Katherine brings Aspen to her room everynight for some snuggle time and she also does this in the morning. Every morning Aspen waits at Katherine's door, so precious! When Katherine was away for an overnight YMCA camp, Aspen was there, looking for Katherine. They are good buds.
Some day you may see Aspen at the Olympics, not sure what sport as Katherine has her playing lacrosse (see picture with lacrosse ball), hockey, football and basketball. They make up their own rules so maybe she won't make the Olympics!
Aspen LOVES the water and is quite the swimmer. I'm sending a couple of pictures of her at the lake. One she is riding the innner-tube, she jumps right on! And the second is of her watching intently at kids on the swimming dock.
You did find us our perfect, family pet. Katherine often says, "What would I do without Aspen."
We hope you are all doing well and enjoying the summer!
Nancy, Dave and Katherine
I can't seem to flip the two pictures. Sorry.
Hi Bryce and Gina:
By now I’m sure you’re wondering how Butch is doing at his new home in Prior Lake. I want to put your minds at ease to let you know that he’s doing really well. I took him to my vet last Thursday for his post purchase wellness check, and he passed all parts of the exam with flying colors. In fact, my vet asked me, “Where did you find this puppy???” When I told her I bought him from a breeder in Askov, MN, she said, “These people are GOOD! You can tell they really know what they are doing when they’re getting puppies ready to move on to new homes.” She was impressed with how she could handle Butch, work with his nose, ears, testicles, and teeth with no resistance. When she checked his pads, she just said, “Oh My God – I am impressed” Before I left, she said, “ I see hundreds of puppies a week, and I see a lot of really nice dogs, and a few exceptional dogs – this one is exceptional +!” She said he can easily learn up to 25 or 30 “tricks” or “tasks” to do for us, and highly encouraged puppy school for him and us. We gave him Heart Worm medications, and some flea and tick stuff and he’s good to go for another week before his 12 week appointment.
When I’m at home and in the yard, he’s always right by my feet – sometimes I trip over him or step on his toes. If I sit down in the garage and watch tv, he sits right beside me or lays on the floor so he touches my leg…he likes the cow hoof that we bought for him and a couple of other toys that he’s already gone through with his teeth. He’s reached a point where he protests very little if at all when we put him in his cage to go to work or to bed..he’s accepted the fact that for now, that’s where he lives when his people are gone or busy.
House training was going very well, but earlier this week, he peed in the house again, so we start the clock over for his 3 week period. He does real well in using the top of the hill for peeing, but is very consistent with his pooping spot, and it’s down the hill in the grassy area. I don’t worry too much about it, I just scoop it up and throw it out in the trees – so that’s a minor infraction.
Evenings he is usually outside with me doing yard work and getting plenty of running time, and about 8:00 when we go inside he worked out most of his enthusiasm and is ready to sit down and chill for a couple of hours before bedtime. He’s never messed his cage, and is always prompt in relieving himself when he gets out, so we’re making progress on that drill.
He’s very good about the “sit” command, and we’re working on the “down” command. If he’s paying attention, he’s pretty good on the “come” command, but if something else has his eye or his nose, he can experience some task generated deafness or selective hearing.
He’s a wonderful pup and a great little companion to have around the place for both Lorrie and me – particularly when only one of us is there. He’s a good little buddy…
We’ll get some pics downloaded to the computer and send you an update from time to time.
Terry A. Pederson
We appreciate our regular updates from families. We always love to hear about our Labs. Thank you. Below are three different emails and photos from Duke's family.
The Duke of Sutherland, Carl William continues to grow and be a good boy. The toilet thing is pretty sure, the kennel is a comfortable place, meeting people making friends, retrieving, farming, traveling, all good. He is discovering some of his speed, throws balls into the air and even catches them sometimes. An independent game of catch! Likes wading in the Lake, boat rides. We enjoy him. Thank you for his awesome foundation!
The Duke continues to amuse us, charm us. For example, on Sunday he learned how to descend the stairs. He got to the bottom amid praise and excitement for his problem solving efforts. He had a flash go across his face and he raced back up the stairs so he could descend again and receive heaps of praise. Funny boy. Last evening he stalked his toy, creeping up until the last few feet when he bounded and pounced on the toy. Again and again. This morning I found him stalking me.... Bold eye, intent on his prey. Sure enough the last few steps he bounded and pounced. Of course all this in adorably clumsy puppy fashion. He is a good boy. He is good, after reminders, about chewing our hands. Good in the house. Playful, yet calm.
I don't Let him on the furniture.....usually-
He is growing up to be a well behaved handsome boy.

Hello to everyone!
I am writing to update you on my Grace! The children could not remember Cherish so we went with GRACE because it was the grace of God that I found WELCOME HOME LABS. We had our 12 week check up weighing 22lbs. we had our shots, worming, started heartworm. Dr Dobbins was so tickled with Grace all the techs. came to see her and told me I could not have found a more perfect Labrador. I told him of your honesty your other four legged kids and of course the two legged children who started these puppies just right. I told him of the card every body signed, puppy packet and the wonderful pictures. Grace is not only funny but so smart she is definitely a bird dog. Already she and I are so attached that when I work overnight Sat., Sun. ,and Monday she can't wait for me to get home. So you are being recommended to everyone and again I can not thank you enough!!!!!!
Love Grace and Michele
Michele has a black Cali X Stanley puppy...Michele and Grace live in Parker, Colorado.
Dear Gina and Bryce,
I wanted to send this off to you sooner, but have been so busy enjoying life with our new baby boy “Trooper” a.k.a. “Elmo,” Nora and Leaguer’s pup.
Trooper arrived to us bright eyed, happy, healthy, with his tail wagging. My children, Michael and Emma Cate were given a surprise of a lifetime when we went to pick up a special “package” at the airport, this past week. Their Dad and I were so nervous about our new pup being “flown” to us but everything went better than expected, he was a real “Trooper” ( hence the name). On the ride home, he sat on my son Michael’s lap the whole way happy and content. Michael turned to look at me and a tear drop fell he said “Mom, don’t worry this is a happy tear…because this is the happiest day of my life.” It has been such an incredible bonding experience thus far, for all of us!
The “crate package” you sent along and the “puppy packet” before that has prepared us for a lifetime of love with our new pup. Trooper is an absolute delight and a credit to you! He has such a calm, sweet temperament. We can’t get over that for a puppy so young, he “sits” on command and comes when he’s called. He loves to play “fetch” and I swear he came “potty trained!” We are working on “crate training” and I have to say four nights later, so far so good
He was to the Vet this past Friday, and he was greeted with “ooh’s and ah’s by staff members, who even took photos of him. Upon, receiving his clean bill of health the doctor e-mailed later to say it was a pleasure meeting Trooper and that he is “perfection”. Needless to say we are very proud dog owners, as you should be proud dog breeders.
“Welcome Home Labs” it has been such a wonderful experience and every day we see how lucky we are to have been blessed with one of your labs. Thank you so much for all your hard work and all the time you dedicate to your dog’s / pups, it’s reflected in Trooper. And it’s appreciated.
Well we could go on forever about him, but we’ll stop here. We will definitely keep in touch and send pictures to you periodically. Look forward to talking to you soon.
The Early Family
Mike, Bonnie, Michael, Emma Cate,
and Trooper, too.
I Just wanted you to know how happy we are with our pup that we purchased from you. Farrah is a smart and adventure seeking pup. She loves to chew on socks, exspecially my daughters special colored striped socks. I recently broke my leg so I've been stuck at home not being able to do much and she has been a great freind thru it al
Thank you welcome home labs
From Cupper's voice, previously Roger...
Tell Cece and Faith that I went to the Vet the other day and can you guess what the Vet said? HE SAID I WAS A PERFECT DOG!!! WooHoo!! Little Roger’s got it goin’ on, girls!! And then he said that the reason I was so calm at the Vet is because of my first family. Without even knowing you guys, he said that my first family must have had a lot of really nice children because it was obvious that I grew up with a lot of love and affection. You guys SO rock!
Love and puppy bites,
Cupper and the Lewis Family(Full letter from Cupper is at the bottom of this page)
Dear Shervheim family,
Cupper, previously Roger, is adorable, we love him. His a very good dog.
Thank you so much, we will take very good care of him.
By the way, he is 35lbs and crazy smart, like, I mean, REALLY smart. We have a bell on the front door handle. When we put him out back, he runs around to the front and rings the bell to come in. He also figured out how door handles work and now he can reach them. The little guy is TOO funny!

Ginny sent us a surprise gift in the mail. It is a plaque that says, "I LOVE MY DOG AND MY DOG LOVES ME!"
You are so welcome! I didn't know quite how to thank you ALL for Brandi, but then I saw this and it just cried "Welcomehomelabs"! You (Gina), Bryce and all of your children do such a wonderful job with these pups. I have yet to meet anyone who has not said what a wonderful girl she is. She is actually starting to obey to sit, come and stay. Responding to her name?------well we're working on it. Tomorrow she is 10 weeks, so I will send you new photos then.
I hope ever one of you know that the time and patience you put into these pups is greatly appreciated and adds to our enjoyment when we get her.
Enjoy the plaque! No one deserves it more.
Best to all, Ginny
I've been following your web site. Boy will you be busy with three puppy litters this month!
We've been so happy with Brandi. I've been giving her very brief swimming lessons. She isn't afraid of the water, but she's not looking to jump in either. The next few days it's supposed to be in the nineties, so I'm sure we'll be in the pool a lot. I've been on top of housebreaking her. She has made only a few messes, but she hasn't gotten to the point of alerting me to go out yet. I'm hoping that will start within the next couple of weeks.
Only problem is, when I look in the mirror recently, I see more smile creases in my face than I did 2 1/2 weeks ago! At this rate I'll look 80 by the time she's 6 months!!!!! Best to all. Ginny
I LOVE THE ABOVE COMMENT...CONTINUE TO SMILE, GINNY!
This is a Lily X Chester male at almost one year old.
He is a great buddy to Gary! The family actually named him Bryce after Bryce at Welcome Home Labs and they also got a black Lab female from us and her name is Gina.
We are flattered.
I suppose with all of the time that we spend with our Lab friends that we do look a bit like the English Lab...
blocky and happy.
Hi Gina & Bryce,
After putting down our Black lab of 14 years my wife and I thought we would take a year without having a dog. Then the kids started to work us for one. I could understand their desire since we had our previous dog before them so their memories of her were in the later stage of life. My wife and I knew that no matter what we did (puppy or adult dog) it was going to be a lab just not another black one due to our memories. After countless hours of research I stumbled upon the Welcome Home Labs website. After reading Bryce and Gina's background and philosophy on breeding Labs it seemed to be what we were looking for. I contacted Welcome Home Labs and had a very nice and informative discussion with Gina on what we were looking for and what they provide in their Labs. They seemed to have the right approach. I definitely knew they did after I read an article titled " Best Breeder Basics" in the Labrador Retriever Puppies magazine Volume 4. This article provided basic information when looking for a puppy/breeder. When I was done reading the article I had to see who the author was because I thought it would be Gina & Bryce. They do everything a good breeder is supposed to do in providing a quality breeding service.
Throughout the entire process of waiting for our puppy to be delivered Gina & Bryce were true professionals. They always returned our calls or emails very promptly, updated us weekly with new puppy pictures and provided us with information on whatever new stage the puppies were entering. This communication was still present after the arrival of our puppy and is still present to this day. The main thing Gina and Bryce told me that they provide with their pups is a great temperament and that is so true. I see a huge difference with our puppy as compared to our first one. Nevada has an outstanding temperament and many of our friends and neighbors have commented on it. My wife and I as well as our kids could not be happier with Nevada.
Hi Gina & Bryce,
I hope all is well with both of you as well as your family.
I remember talking in the past about Fromm dog food. We still use it (Large Breed Adult right now). If I am looking to mix it up and try a new flavor of Fromm's should I gradually wean her or can it be a less subtle wean. I thought I remember one of you saying that since it is the same manufacturer that weaning phase is not a strict. Am I correct in assuming that or not?
Also I am including a recent picture of Nevada( previously poka-dots). She is a fantastic dog (smart, affectionate and most of all a phenomenal temperament). We receive tons of compliments when we are out in public (i.e Lacrosse and softball games) on how gorgeous she is but most importantly her temperament. We couldn't be happier with our choice of you as a breeder.
The first 4 photos are the most recent the winter ones are from this past winter (she loves her frisbee). Also she weighs 73lbs..
Thanks and Enjoy your summer.
Hello Shervheim family!
Here are a few photos of Pickles! I know I have told you this before but we thank you SO much for the sweetest dog. He is truly special!
These photos are taken in our back yard. Also the one where he is sleeping.... that is his favorite spot to rest, against the back door!
Keep in touch,
Kate Stephens and family
The Stephens family welcomed home an adult boy. Pickles is a Natalie X Stanley puppy. He transitioned beautifully! He is a well adjusted, happy boy.
Hi Bryce and Gina,
Well, it looks like the family has finally agreed upon a name for the puppy. Her name is Bella. Bella is adjusting well and had a very busy day today. She went to the vet this morning for a check up. Everything looked great and she weighed in at 9 pounds 2 ounces. She will go in next week for booster shots. She is still very playful and curious. She checks out every corner of everything! She wants to see it all! She is eating well and doing well overall. She spent the morning with me in the garden and got full of mud and dirt so she got her first bath here and is now clean and shiny again. I took her into the pasture with me early this afternoon to meet the chickens and the sheep. Her curiosity put her right up to the noses of the chickens and the sheep. The chickens wanted nothing to do with her but the sheep were just as curious about her. She also loves our cat but our cat tries to keep his distance from her - he doesn't know what to make of her yet :). She does well with all of our family members but seems to have taken the most to our youngest, Daniel. She will follow him anywhere and he loves it. I attached a few pictures of her adventures today.
Gina. We are having such fun with both dogs. Housebreaking is moving along and we are doing a tiny bit of training with our dog sitter who is also a vet tech and trainer. Thank you for everything!
Hope all is well there. Mary Dell
Hi Bryce and Gina,
Just wanted to say hello and wanted to share some photos from our lovely and cute puppies!! We named them Buzz (yellow) and Woody (chocolate).
They came to brighten our move to our new home. They came to give a special light and fun to the daily routine and specially they gave us something to keep us happy and occupied when we are homesick from Guatemala!!!
We all love them tremendously already. We are learning a lot about training and think that we are doing a good job so far.
They are getting bigger and bigger by the second, we are doing crate training and it is amazing how often do we have to change the crate since they do not fit anymore. They are very healthy and joyful, energetic and playful. Buzz is the troublemaker and Woody the easygoing one. They get along very well, in fact, I think they could not live without each other. Everybody is in love with them at first sight, they are very sociable, they like everybody that caresses them or pets them.
Thank you very much for being in touch and hope you enjoy the pictures!!
Roberto and Mimi
Ok Gina, I have read through it all and just wanted to "confirm" that all looks good and we will be at Bradley on June 13th just before the flight arrives at 1:30pm. and I will call ahead ton confirm location/directions with Delta cargo. The anticipation to meet our new baby boy is sooo exciting...I cant even wait, I feel like I'm a little kid all over again, lol:-)
Looking forward to receiving the puppy packet as I'm sure it will be very helpful in getting "Elmo" settled in the beginning and thereafter. I'll be sure to look it over and touch base if I have any further questions/concerns but thus far I feel as prepared as I can be at this point, thanks to you:-)
Thank you again and will touch base
Bonnie and family welcomed a Nora X Leaguer puppy into their Connecticut home.
Bryce and Gina,
You have brought so much joy into my home. Bentley (Brook and Thunder Litter) and Royce (Lilly and Chester Litter) are doing so well!!! Great dogs and they LOOOOOVVVVVE children!!! When I first contacted you guys for a yellow puppy, I was only expecting to get one. Well...... I ended up getting two!!! The puppies were sooo perfect that I couldn't say yes to just one. Bryce you were so kind to me and my family. You were so understanding and down to earth. My daughter who was 5 months at the time, was born with Spina Bifida had just has two surgeries on her spine. Bryce and Gina were very supportive and they had never met me before. They were like family from the moment I spoke with them. They were very interested in not only finding the perfect therapy dog for my daughter but how she was doing on a daily basis.
Being a breeder to Bryce and Gina requires more than a conversation and a picture. They are so heart warming and caring. They want nothing but the best for not only the pups but for your family. My dogs are now 6 months old and I still communicate with Welcome Home Labs. We still have a relationship outside the dogs. Gina is VERY VERY sweet and cares a lot about my daughters progress. She is always sending me very sweet emails asking about the pups and my family. Hi Gina!!!!!
Now that I have shared with you guys on how the breeders are lets get to the good stuff.... The PUPPIES!!!!!!! Well I have two beautiful male dogs. A chocolate and a Yellow. They are VERY VERY VERY smart. Royce ( yellow) likes to tell me when he wants to go outside. Not with a bark but some kind of language he has come to learn. He responds very well when I speak to him. He is very playful and will greet you at the door with a hand shake if you go to shake first. It was VERY VERY easy to potty train him. I have never heard him growl.... EVER!!! He is nothing but mommy's big sweet baby!!!! I have six children and let me tell you he loves everyone of them and is gentle with each of them. He came to me in PERFECT condition. VERY VERY FAT!!!! LOL!!!! Sooo chunky and cuddly. He is the perfect playmate for my children.
My next lab is Bentley ( chocolate). He is a laid back old man as I call him. Bryce and Gina hand picked him to be my daughters therapy dog. He is VERY VERY gentle and BEAUTIFUL!!!!! He looks exactly like his dad Thunder. He loves flip flops and stuffed animals. He is also smart and very kind towards people. Strangers he tends to sit back and wait to see if I approach them. Waiting for my OK. He came to me in PERFECT condition and FAT as well. My big chunky chocolate muffin!!! Bryce and Gina were right he has always been very gentle with my now 11 month old. Never heard a growl from him either. Do they even growl? LOL!
I was only going to write a short testimonial but there is much to say about my experience with Welcome Home Labs. Bryce and Gina are just GREAT!!!!! They work with your family. As far as I am concerned Welcome Home Labs are number one when it comes to communication, consideration and Love!!! You cant just be a breeder you still have to be a human being. They are not quick to earn a buck and they respond to emails faster than any Labrador breeder I have dealt with. Great customer service, great people and BEAUTIFUL DOGS!!! Gotta love Welcome Home Labs!!! I recommend them to THE WORLD!!!!!! Get a puppy from Welcome Labs. What are you waiting for?!!!!
Thank You Bryce and Gina for everything. You guys are the best!!!!! XOXOXOXOXO
Please correct any mistakes and if it's too long I'm sorry. I had quite a bit to say. I will take some updated pics tomorrow. :)
These are the two boys Simmy and family welcomed home.
Abigail is doing great she got her Star Puppy Medal from AKC and we took her for her first UKC Hunt Test in Clinton SC this weekend, At 5 months Abigail will retrieve sit deliver to hand and know left right and back hand signals we are going to SC again for a larger Hunt Test Dec. 5th there they will have 1st 2nd & 3rd place ribbons and more dogs to compete with. I think Alla is now leaning to the Field work rather than shows- she likes training and her goal is the Super Retriever series on ESPN .
Abigail is very smart and again we thank you for a Great pick of the litter.
