EASY...Waiting is the hardest part!
I will walk you through all of the details when we talk on the phone. It really is an easy and exciting option to get your pup in your arms safely.
How does this all worK?
We use several major airlines for shipping, but usually Delta or Continental. The process is safe, simple, and cost effective. The pup first obtains a health certificate from a vet. On the day of travel, your pup is calmed with a fragrant bath, is showered with hugs and kisses and he/she is placed in a well-ventilated airline transport crate which is received by a special division of the airlines. He/she is placed on board just minutes prior to departure, and will travel in a temperature controlled, pressurized area of the aircraft. We have comfortable bedding along with a food and water tray in the travel crate. The workers at the airlines always do a top-notch job visiting with and caring for the pups. If they need additional ice chips or water, your pup will certainly be cared for!
(We do not use sedatives. They are unnecessary and can be very dangerous).
The best part of this option is that your pup can be in your arms in just a few short hours. This is usually less traumatic than traveling by car if pup is going quite a distance. You get to be on the receiving end and you let your pup out of the crate. The bonding immediately begins!
Cost: It generally will cost between $350- $400 to ship your puppy to you. This will include a certified health certificate and a travel crate. The crate will be useful for the first several weeks of training at home, too. Full payment for pup and shipping is required at six weeks of age. At this time we will make shipping arrangements.
Picking up your puppy at the airport
This is such a special part of the adoption experience- you will have so much fun. I will let you know in advance exactly where to meet your pup. Usually pick up is at a building seperate from the main terminal at a CARGO BUILDING. You can usually pull right up to the door so it is quick and easy without traffic and parking issues. Just simply show up to the designated pick up area and Show them your I.D., take a deep breath and a bundle of love will be handed your way.
Many families use this as the surprise introduction to their children or spouses. Have a camera ready! Other than bottled water and paper towels, there is nothing special you will need. Take your pup to a grassy area, let him/her out for a bathroom break. Once the bathroom break is over you will find it more comfortable to travel with your new pup beside you on the seat. Pup will most likely go back to sleep by the warmth of your leg, this is a great first bonding experience.
The wait is over and now you can say...
"
Welcome Home!"
Then...let the fun begin!
